UPDATED 3/23/20

GreatLIFE Members and Patrons,

The health and well-being of our members continue to be the number one priority of GreatLIFE KC.  We continue to closely monitor the guidance from local officials and the CDC.  We have already closed our gyms and made several changes to the golf experience at our clubs.  In response to the “Stay at Home” order by local governments, we have evaluated the situation and believe we can remain open at this time.

We ask you to continue being diligent about your interactions and practice social distancing.  The following processes are in place effective immediately.

  1. We will no longer be able to allow our golf carts for the foreseeable future. Member carts are permitted currently.
  2. We will be closing the pros shops to all traffic. Transactions need to be completed over the phone with credit cards. (CLICK HERE FOR ALL GOLF COURSE PHONE NUMBERS). After April 1st, you can book and pay for your tee time online at greatlifekc.com.
  3. The entire clubhouse will remain closed for the foreseeable future.
  4. Tee Times will continue to be staggered.
  5. Cups have been modified to make it easier to get the ball out without touching anything.
  6. Always leave the flagstick in the hole to minimize touching.
  7. Please smooth bunkers with your feet to leave it somewhat playable for the next player.

Additionally, we are asking you to help as well by following the CDC recommendations (hyperlink: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prepare/prevention.html), including:

  • Staying at home if you’re not feeling well.
  • Washing your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  • Keeping at least 6 feet between yourself and other guests whenever possible.

While we remain open for business for golf, there may come a time when we will have to temporarily restrict access or take additional measures.  We hope you enjoy visiting GreatLIFE KC locations knowing our teams are taking additional precautions to provide a clean and safe environment. There is also more updated information at greatlifekc.com/health.

UPDATED 3/17/20

Dear GreatLIFE Members and Patrons,

As the rapidly changing concern and outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19) evolves, the health and well-being of our members is our number one priority at GreatLIFE KC.  GreatLIFE KC is closely monitoring guidance from local health officials and the CDC.  With safety in mind and to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19, the gym portion of our locations will be temporarily closing at the close of business March 16th, 2020.

We don’t make this decision lightly but out of an abundance of caution.  Currently, we are keeping the golf courses of GreatLIFE open pending additional recommendations from government and health officials.

We ask if you do come in to golf that you just give us a call in the pro shop to minimize person to person interaction.  Additionally, if you feel the need to individually take a cart, you will be allowed to do so.  We are also going to stagger tee times a bit more than normal to not have everyone waiting on the 1st tee. We will be closing the locker rooms and the snack bars to avoid any chances of unneeded social interactions. Here is a great article about playing golf during this pandemic.

https://www-golfdigest-com.cdn.ampproject.org/c/s/www.golfdigest.com/story/can-you-play-golf-amid-coronavirus-concerns-with-proper-precautions-yes/amp

Some of the highlights include:

  1. Leave the flagstick in the cup in order to not unnecessarily touch it.
  2. Pick up your own ball and clubs.
  3. No need to high five or handshake other players during or after the round.

Additionally, we are asking you to help as well by following the CDC recommendations , including:

  • Staying at home if you’re not feeling well.
  • Washing your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds before using fitness equipment.
  • Keeping at least 6 feet between yourself and other guests whenever possible.

These are challenging times for everyone, and we just want to say we appreciate the healthcare workers, government workers, local leaders who are all doing their best to combat this crisis.

While we remain open for business for golf, there may come a time when we will have to temporarily restrict access to our clubs completely.  We hope you enjoy visiting GreatLIFE KC locations knowing our teams are taking additional precautions to provide a clean and safe environment.

Respectfully,
Brett Klausman
CEO, GreatLIFE KC

BOOKING AND GOLFING PROCEDURES
For your safety and health during this COVID-19 Virus, we are focused on creating a Zero Touch Environment during your golf experience at our course(s). Thus, we will be taking the following precautions during your visit to the course:
1. When you arrive at the course, you do not need to come in to the Golf Shop at all to check in. Please call the Golf Shop from your cell phone and check in through the phone. If you absolutely need something from the Golf Shop; golf balls, bottled water, etc, you are permitted to come in to the Golf Shop and purchase your item. The bar area will not be open, but if there are items in the Golf Shop, you can get them there. We are not going to be accepting cash at this time, only credit card.
2. If you need to use the restroom, we are using a one in, one out policy. Please make sure nobody else is in the restroom when you go in. Wash your hands thoroughly once you are done.
3. We are permitting you to take a golf cart solo, unless you are with someone that you feel comfortable riding with. The carts will already be keyed on and ready to go when you get there, so you do not need to touch the keys.
4. We will be cleaning each cart thoroughly before and after your round with bleach water. We do encourage you to bring your own hand sanitizer to have throughout the day.
5. While on the course, you will see the following changes to prevent any germs being spread...
  • We are going to put a 2" PVC pipe cut 2.5" long in to the hole around the bottom of the flagstick. The ball will be able to fall in to the hole, but will sit above the cup so the ball is easy to pull out of the cup without touching the cup.
  • We are removing all unnecessary "Touch" items on the golf course, including:
    • Bunker Rakes
    • Water Coolers
    • Ball Washers
  • All fountains are going to be out of service.
Overall, we ask that you please think of not just yourself, but others as well when at the course. We do feel that the golf course is one of the safer places anywhere right now and we want to keep it that way. Your compliance will greatly help!
